Q. How will I know if I am a good candidate? A. You may be a good candidate if you:
- Have had stable vision for the past year
- Have healthy eyes, good general health and are not taking medication that affects the healing process.
- Are age 18 or over
- Are near-sighted, far-sighted, have astigmatism, or if you need reading glasses
At Precision Vision, we offer a large variety of vision correction possibilities which allows us to help you select the best procedure available. During your screening and your comprehensive examination we will do more extensive testing to determine if you are a suitable candidate.
Q. How quickly will my eyes recover?
A. You should be able to see better 1-2 hours after the treatment, but you will notice the dramatic difference when you wake up the next day. Most people get back to their normal routine quickly-even going back to work the next day. You may need to avoid contacts sports and swimming for 2 or more weeks. Your eye doctor will advise you what is suitable for your individual needs. Please see our chart under forms and instructions that spells out many of the post-operative restrictions for LASIK.
Q. Does it hurt?
A. No. The actual procedure does not hurt. We use numbing drops and there are no needles involved. We also provide you with a minor pain medication as well. This will allow you to go home and take a nap. You can expect some sensitivity to light, a slight scratchy sensation, similar to an eyelash in your eye and mybe some mild tearing. The most uncomfortable part of the surgery is usually reported to be the instrument that helps hold your eyelids open during surgery.
Q. Can you treat astigmatism?
A. Yes. The B&L Laser is FDA approved to treat the largest amount of astigmatism at this time. Our outcomes for astigmatism treatments have been phenomenal. Please feel free to discuss your specific case in more detail at your complimentary consultation.
Q. What is Zyoptix?
A. Zyoptix is a personalized laser correction treatment developed by Bausch & Lomb. It not only uses Custom Wavefront technology to analyze the surface of your eye, but it has the ability to look at your entire optical system. It also has the capabilities to identify the unique characteristics of your eyes and treat any imperfections you may have that glasses or contacts do not correct. This is the same type of technology that was used to evaluate and fix the problems with the sophisticated Hubble telescope several years ago. This advanced system boasted some of the most amazing statistics from its U.S. FDA Clinical Trials to date. It not only showed tremendous visual outcomes, but it also reported that not one patient was dissatisfied in the FDA trials . See our Custom LASIK with Zyoptix section for more on this amazing technology.
Q. Is Custom better than regular LASIK?
A. Traditional LASIK continues to be an incredible procedure for the right type of patient.
With Zyoptix, we are taking regular LASIK one-step further. We are not only treating your prescription, but we now have the ability to treat more irregularities and measure your eye with 25 times the precision of conventional methods. See our Custom LASI with Zyoptix section for more on this amazing technology.
Q. What are my alternatives to LASIK?
A. Of course, most people have the typical alternatives of glasses and contacts, but what many people don’t know is that there are several safe and effective alternatives to LASIK as a means of permanent vision correction. Please see our Procedures section for more information.
Q. Will I see 20/20 afterwards?
A. Great question! Let me ask you, do you currently see 20/20 now with your glasses or contact lenses? The reason I ask is because it is our goal to provide you with the best possible vision available to you. Did you know that you may even be capable of seeing better than 20/20? Custom LASIK with Zyoptix is something that may be able to allow you to achieve this type of vision. This procedure is that accurate. Your next step is to come in for a complete evaluation where we can determine some of these answers for you.
Q. Do you have financing plans?
A. Yes. Precision Vision offers financing plans, which we hope will meet your needs. The plans include zero percent interest for 12 months, as well as extended payment plans with low interest rates. Financing arrangements must be completed prior to your surgery date. To apply now call 1-800-365-8295 or go to
